Fibre to Coax in One Complete Package

(Product News, 16 Nov 2009)

With the DEV 7104, users save 3RU rack space in a cable head end and considerable budget. DEV Systemtechnik is the first vendor to integrate the functionalities of optical signal receivers and RF signal distribution into one single unit. Just 4RU high, the DEV 7104 accommodates optical transmission as well as L-band signal distribution and switching. It combines the functionality of a 3RU optical chassis for the reception of optically transmitted signals with 1:8 or 1:16 signal distribution, up to now demanding a separate stand-alone 4RU signal distribution system DEV 2180 or DEV 2190. The user benefits from a single-ended solution with no need for further external signal distribution. Only one web interface for both functionalities greatly simplifies operation, configuration, and information transfer to an external network management system.

DEV 7103 is an intelligent optical chassis for optical signal transmission with up to 16 transmitter/receiver modules, e.g. DEV 7312 with manual or DEV 7313 with automatic gain control. DEV 7104 integrates this functionality with that of the signal distribution systems DEV 2180 or DEV 2190, offering a comprehensive, complete solution. Maximum package density corresponds with the signal distribution system DEV 2190, so the DEV 7104 provides space for up to 16 receiver modules plus a signal distribution of 16 x 1:8 or 8 x1:16, maximum.
