CML Microcircuits has released CMX991, a high-performance integrated RF quadrature/low IF transceiver IC that features an advanced image-reject up-conversion modulation system and flexible superheterodyne receiver. It is designed to meet the global requirements of electronics designers who are searching for a low-cost integrated transceiver device, which offers consistently precise RF signal processing. Specifically tailored for flexible operation from 1GHz right down to 100MHz, the transceiver addresses an area that is not adequately covered by existing devices on the market. It suits both narrowband and wideband wireless products – up to 2MHz RF channels, including multi-mode analog/digital terminals, digital software defined radio (SDR) for portable, mobile and basestation designs. Intended applications include APCO Project 25 (Phase 1 and 2), ETSI DMR (TS 102 361), general-purpose wireless data applications and satellite communication systems. It operates at 3.3V (1.8V I/O) and comes in a 48-pin VQFN package.
