Yageo Announces PT Current Sensor Series Targeting High-End Mobile Applications

(Product News, 14 May 2009)

Yageo Corp., a global passive components supplier, announced new PT low TCR current sensor series featuring precision temperature coefficient and enhanced current sensing stability for high-end mobile applications in smart phones, mini notebook computers and small portable electronic storage devices. Yageo's PT current sensor series, expected to further contribute to its specialty product sale, has been approved by global key accounts with shipment scheduled for the second quarter of this year.
Catering to increasingly compact design and integrated function requirements, Yageo’s PT current sensor series, including 0402/0603/0805/1206/2010/2512 sizes, come with a superior temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of 75ppm/°C, comparing with existing RL series resistor, and low resistance level of 100 ohms.

Mr. Vincent Hu, President of Yageo Global Sales Business Group, said "The launch of mini laptops has further obscured the lines dividing portable devices and notebook computers. To enable these compact gadgets to provide integrated functions, product design engineers must overcome the challenges of managing temperature and power in a very limited space. Yageo’s PT current sensor series offer not only the standard specifications for mobile phone in the market, but also significantly enhanced resistance accuracy particularly suited for use in mini portable electronic equipments. We look forward to making further leeway in resister specialty markets with the new PT current sensor series."
